Joseph Guandolo is a fully remote personal trainer, business owner and coaching mentor who built a seven-figure fitness company (Facts Over Fads) through consistency, smart systems and a no-nonsense coaching philosophy. After leaving his career as a combat medic in the US Army, Joseph took a leap into personal training, choosing commission-based uncertainty over a stable paramedic salary. It was a risk that paid off.
Since adopting My PT Hub in 2018, Joseph has used the platform as the operational backbone of his business. What started as a way to support clients outside the gym has evolved into a highly scalable coaching system supporting hundreds of clients, multiple coaches across the US and over $1 million in total revenue
Today, Joseph runs a fully remote coaching company, manages a growing team of coaches, and is preparing to open a $2 million, 30,000 sq ft gym, all while continuing to rely on My PT Hub to deliver a seamless client experience at scale.

Starting out: From combat medic to personal trainer
Joseph’s journey started in the US Army, where he served as a combat medic while earning an associate’s degree and ISSA certifications. When he transitioned out of the military, he had a choice: take a secure, salaried paramedic position or try his hand at personal training with zero guarantees. He chose the latter.
With military benefits covering his housing and education, Joseph accepted a 100% commission role at Gold’s Gym. Early on, he discovered a major limitation of traditional gym environments: clients struggled to stay consistent outside of the hourly sessions he had with them each week.

Joseph realized that if his clients were going to succeed, he needed a way to seamlessly track and support his clients between sessions.
The online coaching breakthrough

Joseph started looking for a platform that could deliver workouts, track nutrition, monitor progress and keep communication flowing, all in one place. That’s when he found My PT Hub.
Since adopting the platform in 2018, Joseph has used My PT Hub as the backbone of his entire business. It became the system for everything that happened when he wasn’t physically standing next to his clients. He could deliver structured programs, manage nutrition plans, track habits and stay connected with his clients. More importantly, it gave him a way to quickly scale his client base, without compromising on the quality of his coaching.
“My biggest frustration was knowing my clients weren’t doing anything on the days I wasn’t with them. If I couldn’t see what my clients were doing, I couldn’t help them; that’s when I knew I needed a real system.”
Rapid growth through systemization
Joseph’s first big win came from running a nutrition challenge. The first round brought in 10 clients, the second jumped to 30, and shortly after, he launched a subscription model that attracted 50 people in a single month.
When COVID-19 hit, Joseph was already running a fully online operation. While other trainers scrambled to adapt, his business doubled from 100 to 200 clients almost overnight. To keep up, he brought on interns and assistants, many of whom were already familiar with My PT Hub from being clients themselves.
“When I launched my challenge subscription model, my income changed almost overnight.”
Building a fully remote coaching business
Fast-forward to today, Joseph is 100% remote. While he appreciates the relationships built through in-person training, he’s now able to devote more of his time to developing his staff and investing in business growth. He encourages other coaches to explore hybrid models, combining in-person work with online services.
His business now offers two main services:
Nutrition only coaching
- Fully online
- Focus on habits, nutrition tracking and check-ins
Premium coaching
- Workouts plus nutrition
- Weekly one-on-one calls
- Personalized based on coach expertise
Premium coaching runs at $300 per month, a price point that reflects the accountability and results delivered.

Managing a distributed team

Joseph leads a team of coaches spread across the U.S., including Texas, Florida and New York. Brand consistency is maintained through clear standards, strong leadership and a recognizable social media presence.
Every coach must meet three requirements:
- Certified personal trainer status
- Nutrition certification
- Pass six internal exams based on a required six-part podcast series
Coaches are encouraged to bring their own specialties into the premium model, whether that’s menopause coaching, glute development or something else. The framework stays consistent, but there’s room for individual style.
“A business is only as strong as the person at the top. If you think you know everything, you’re the bottleneck.”
All client payments flow through Stripe and sync directly into My PT Hub, keeping everything organized for package delivery, reporting and coach compensation.
How My PT Hub powers the entire operation
Joseph’s business runs on systems, and My PT Hub sits at the center of it all. When a client signs up, they’re automatically onboarded through packages that deliver workouts and files, assign them to the right contact groups, and trigger habits and check-ins.
Joseph regularly uses:
- Packages to automate content delivery
- Groups to segment nutrition-only clients from premium clients
- Habits to drive behavioral change
- Broadcast messages for efficient communication
- Workout tracking for his Premium clients
- PB badges to keep clients motivated
“I could comfortably manage 600 clients simultaneously with the systems we’ve built in My PT Hub.”
Hitting $1 million in revenue
Among everything he’s accomplished, Joseph is most proud of three things:
- Surpassing $1 million in total revenue
- Helping six clients lose over 100 pounds without medication
- Coaching four clients to reach 5% body fat
He credits his success to one thing: consistency. Same platform, same principles, same approach for over eight years. Rather than bouncing between apps or chasing trends, he stayed consistent with his key business pillars, refining them into automated systems that did the heavy lifting for him.
What’s next: more coaches and a $2 million gym
Joseph’s plans for the future are ambitious. He’s aiming for 100% business growth this year, expanding to 10 coaches total, with each coach managing around 50 clients long-term. That structure would create sustainable six-figure incomes for his entire team.
At the same time, he’s building a 30,000 square foot gym, a $2 million project set to open later this year. My PT Hub will be integrated into the gym experience, bridging in-person and online coaching under one system.
Advice for new coaches
Joseph’s advice for coaches starting out is straightforward:
Start in-person to learn your limits.
You need to understand how many clients you can realistically manage before going fully online.
Don’t overprice before earning trust.
New coaches often expect immediate credibility. Offer free or low-cost services at first to build experience and relationships, then raise your prices.
“Most coaches don’t under-earn because they’re bad; they under-earn because they don’t believe in their value.”
Be consistent and authentic on social media.
Joseph’s coaching style is blunt and direct, and he believes people value that authenticity. Don’t fake it, don’t chase every trend, and don’t be afraid to delete a post if – in hindsight – it’s not truly representative of your brand or values.
Let clients market for you.
A client’s testimonial is worth more than any sales pitch. Don’t be afraid to ask them to tag you, share their progress and check in on social media.
Embrace industry changes.
Don’t fear trends like GLP-1 medications. Learn about them, support your clients through them, and reinforce the fundamentals: exercise, healthy eating, and protein intake.
“My job isn’t to fight trends. It’s to help clients navigate them with clarity and confidence.”
Start broad, then double down on a niche.
Work with as many people as possible to figure out who you’re best suited to help. For example, Joseph realized his niche was middle-aged women, but only after coaching many clients and tracking engagement metrics through social media.
“Stop chasing niches. Coach enough people and your niche will find you.”
Giving back to the community
Beyond running his own business, Joseph leads the Unconquerable Mentorship, where he helps coaches build sustainable systems, charge what they’re worth and reduce admin through platforms like My PT Hub. Joseph knows entrepreneurship can be lonely, and he’s committed to helping other coaches avoid the pitfalls he faced early on.
