Our last blog was detailing how the order of the exercises within your workout affects your results. Mentioned within that post was the illusive mind to muscle connection and how I personally maximise this.
It’s one thing going to the gym and feeling like you are pushing yourself harder and harder each session, but it is a completely different ball game if you ‘connect’ with what you are doing. You can get a totally different workout in without changing anything! IF you activate your mind. This can be stimulated by a variety of different techniques and again, it is very much a case of finding out what works for you! Largely it will depend on what stimulates your senses. For example, some people react better to physically watching a muscle work and therefore can connect better with it, whereas a technique I employ is to scratch or gently touch the working muscle during the movement.
